Singing Sick

Today I’m starting a new series called The Vocal Workshop. In this first video, I discuss some steps that I take when I’m under the weather and have to sing. Let me know what you think.

Over to you: What did I leave out? What tips do you have for singing during cold season?

  1. Hey, great, Jonathan. I’m not a singer, but those are good tips for many circumstances. About the garlic- freshly crushed organic garlic would be the best, plus if you put it in olive oil it goes down easier. Parsley will take away the smell.

Jonathan, I never heard of putting Vapo-rub on the feet! I’ll try that next time I have a cold. Is that raw garlic or cooked? Don’t think I could chew it up raw by the spoonful, but I like to mince it and put it in salad or on a baked potato. Slippery Elm is an herb that can help with mucous congestion, too. It’s a mild-tasting powder, and is good mixed in with stewed dried fruit and ground almonds.
